Spotted a clever drafting trick at the old shipyard museum in Mystic

They had a display of original hull blueprints from the 1800s, and the draftsman used different colored inks for each layer of the ship's structure. Ever try something like that on a modern project?

Different colored inks for each layer is a smart idea. I once saw a carpenter use colored chalk lines on a floor for different wiring runs, which saved a ton of time. That old school clarity can still work today.

Ever try colored tape on a workbench for sorting parts? Same idea, and it really cuts down on mistakes.
