Serious question, I thought parametric modeling was just overkill for basic parts until a client sent me a revision for the 5th time.
For years I stuck with 2D for everything, even simple brackets and plates. A buddy kept pushing me to learn it, said it would save time. I finally tried it on a steel support job for a warehouse in Akron, and when the engineer changed the bolt pattern again, updating the drawing took two minutes instead of starting over. Completely changed my view. Anyone else have a tool or method they resisted that actually paid off big?

Same thing happened with me and revision clouds. Thought they were just extra work until a project got audited. Having that change history saved me so much time.

Tell your team to cloud every single change, even the tiny ones. I learned the hard way when an auditor asked about a moved door swing from three rounds back. Had to dig through old emails for an hour because it wasn't clouded. Now I make it a rule, no exceptions. It feels like busywork until you need to prove what changed and why. That visual record is the only thing that saves you.
