Fixed a leaky faucet after my neighbor called my work 'hacky'
My kitchen faucet was dripping for weeks. I tried the usual, just tightening stuff. My neighbor, an old plumber, saw it and said, 'Kid, that's hacky. You gotta replace the cartridge, not just crank on it.' He was right. I watched a video, bought a $12 replacement part, and did it last Saturday. Took about an hour but the drip is totally gone. Anyone have a go-to brand for those cartridges, or are they all pretty much the same?

My buddy had the same thing happen, but his cartridge was so old he had to order it from some weird plumbing website.

Honestly, the brand matters less than getting the right model number. That video probably saved you a huge plumber bill.

Used to think all those little parts were basically the same. That neighbor's comment about it being hacky really stuck with me though. Replacing the whole cartridge instead of just tightening it is a totally different level of fix. Feels way more solid and permanent. Now I always look for the exact model number match, brand is secondary.
