Plywood vs. MDF for garage shelving ended up costing me more in the long run
I went with MDF because it was $30 cheaper for the whole project but after 6 months in the humidity it started sagging in the middle, anyone else deal with materials warping on them?

Six months was all it took for me to learn that same expensive lesson.

Yeah that timeline sounds about right... six months is the magic number where the shiny wears off and you start seeing all the hidden costs you missed. But I gotta say, it's not always about the money you lose, sometimes it's what you could have done with that time and energy instead. The real expensive part is when you realize you could've learned the same lesson for way cheaper if you'd just asked around first. Although I think the first time you make that mistake is the worst, after that you kinda know what to look for.
