Pro tip: flipping your laptop upside down for 10 minutes saved my GPU
I noticed my gaming laptop hitting 95C every time I played Elden Ring (even on low settings). After cleaning the fans with compressed air and seeing no improvement, I flipped the whole thing upside down on a book for about 10 minutes before starting a session. It dropped temps by 8C right away, and now I do this every week as a quick reset for the thermal paste to settle back where it belongs. Has anyone else tried this trick with older laptops?

Whoa, wait. You flip your laptop upside down so the thermal paste "settles back where it belongs"? That's not how thermal paste works. It's not a liquid that just slides around in there. Once it's on, it stays put unless you take the cooler off. I'm honestly shocked you saw a temp drop from that, maybe it was just the fans getting better airflow or something. But flipping a running laptop feels like a gamble I would not take.
