Just realized I've been overcomplicating my garage shelving for years
Last month I spent a whole Saturday building a fancy wood shelving unit from plans I found online. Cost me about $150 in lumber and hardware. Then my neighbor Bob came over and showed me how he just uses heavy duty metal brackets and 2x4s from the scrap pile. His setup holds more weight and took him 20 minutes. I felt pretty dumb but he was right. Has anyone else fallen for the overcomplicated DIY plans?

Right but is the scrap pile thing actually realistic for most people or do you need to have a pile of 2x4s just sitting around for that to work?
