Showerthought: Lesson from a dead laptop charger in Bangkok
I was in Bangkok working from a cafe. My laptop charger died without warning. No spare meant a frantic search. Local shops had wrong voltage. Finally got to MBK Center after hours. Now I pack backup gear. How do you deal with tech problems on the road?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. I'd take it even further and pack a universal travel adapter with USB-C ports now (the good kind with surge protection). Also, I save everything to the cloud as I work, so if my actual laptop dies, I can hopefully grab a cheap tablet or use a library computer to pull my files and send urgent emails. It's all about the backup for your backup.

Wrapped mine in bright tape so it's harder to lose.

Actually, bright tape saved my keys more than once. I used neon green tape on my keychain, and it made spotting them in my bag way easier. Plus, I added a little bell for extra noise, so I can hear if they drop. Works like a charm, no more frantic searches lol.
