Coworking host in Lisbon told me to skip the beach, he was right
Two years ago I moved to Lisbon for a month and this guy who runs a coworking spot near Cais do Sodre told me to skip Praia de Carcavelos and go to Praia da Adraga instead. He said the crowds were insane and the water was calmer up the coast. I took a 40 minute bus ride and it was basically empty, just a few locals and some surfers. Has anyone else gotten weird local advice that actually beat the tourist spots? What's your best hidden gem for a work break?
Damn, a 40 minute bus ride for an empty beach?? That's wild. I got told by a random barista in Barcelona to skip Park Güell and hit up this tiny hill behind his flat. Took a sketchy staircase and ended up with the whole city to myself while tourists were packed like sardines. Local intel is honestly worth gold, I never trust the guidebooks anymore.
