Wasted $400 on a Facebook ad campaign that targeted the wrong city
I set up a campaign for my small online shop last month and accidentally left the targeting on 'San Jose, California' instead of 'San Jose, Costa Rica'. The ads got clicks, but zero sales from people who could actually buy. It was a total waste of the budget. Has anyone else messed up geo-targeting that bad and found a good way to double-check it?

Ever notice how we triple-check the small stuff but miss the big things?

Ouch that's brutal, but honestly you're not alone. I've seen people target entire countries instead of cities, like picking "United Kingdom" when they just wanted London. What helps me now is setting the location first before I even write the ad copy, that way it's locked in. I also do a final review where I literally read the targeting out loud, "Okay this is for San Jose, Costa Rica, not California," because seeing it written can trick your brain.
