Vent: Stopped running boosted Facebook posts cold turkey 6 months ago

I used to throw $200 a month at boosting random Facebook posts that got like 30 likes. It felt productive but the leads were garbage. Then in January I switched to running small retargeting campaigns for people who actually visited my site. First month I got 12 direct inquiries from a $50 spend. Has anyone else seen better ROI from retargeting vs just boosting?

@river_hart18 yeah those boosted posts feel like cheap coffee in that moment but then leave you jittery and empty an hour later. I see this same thing everywhere now. People want quick results and easy buttons. But the real wins always come from talking to people who already know who you are. Its like showing up to a party versus sending out flyers to random houses. Which face do you recognize more the next day?

I used to think boosts were the only way to go too but those retargeting numbers are hard to argue with.
