Showerthought: I picked a $50 ad budget for a local client over a free social push
Had a small bakery client who wanted more weekend orders, and the choice was between running a targeted Facebook ad for $50 or just posting more on their free Instagram page (which honestly wasn't getting seen). I went with the ad, set it to target people within 5 miles who liked similar bakeries, and they sold out of scones by Saturday afternoon. Has anyone else had a tiny budget work way better than just hoping the free stuff catches on?

Wait, you sold out of scones with just a fifty dollar ad? That's wild. I've seen so many small places just post into the void for free and get nothing. Putting a little money behind it to actually reach the right people makes total sense. It's a shock that more folks don't try it, honestly. That's a huge win for such a small budget.

Honestly, "post into the void" is the perfect way to put it. Tbh I feel like people are scared to spend even a tiny bit, but like @the_luna said, it's a secret weapon. Ngl my cousin put thirty bucks on a local ad for her pottery class and filled the last three spots in an hour. It's just about getting past your own followers.

My friend runs a tiny plant shop and put twenty bucks behind a post about fiddle leaf figs. She had people coming in asking for them by name all weekend. Sometimes just getting it in front of a few hundred extra eyes is the whole game. It really seems like a secret weapon for small spots that everyone forgets about.
