Realized I was targeting the wrong keywords for 6 months

I was obsessing over high-volume keywords for my client's landscaping site in Denver but getting zero conversions. Then I looked at the search data and saw people searching 'lawn care near me' were actually calling us, not 'best lawn mowing tips' which got tons of traffic but no leads. Has anyone else wasted time on vanity metrics like that?

Dude this hits way too close to home. Spent like 4 months chasing 'best dental implants cost' for a dentist client and got nothing but bounce rate through the roof. Then switched to 'dentist near me open saturday' and calls started rolling in within a week. It's crazy how easy it is to get hypnotized by big search numbers and forget what actually makes money. The real lesson is people search for info vs people searching to buy are two totally different worlds.

Right?! I swear chasing volume over intent is just a fancy way to burn money. @noahcampbell hit it perfectly - info vs buying intent is night and day.
