Pro tip: I stopped guessing on my email subject lines
For the first year, I would just write what sounded good. Last month, I started using a free tool called SendCheckIt to test two options before every campaign. The open rate for my small list jumped from 18% to 31% on average. It feels good to have a real reason for my choices now. What other small tests do you run before hitting send?

My friend runs a bakery newsletter. She used to just pick cute names for her weekly subject lines. Last month she tested "Fresh Sourdough Just Out" against "Your Weekend Bread is Ready" and the second one got way more opens. She said seeing the actual numbers made her stop just going with her gut. Now she always runs those little tests.

Testing subject lines seems like a lot of work for an email. Most people just delete them anyway, lol.
