My first Google Ads campaign went $300 over budget in a week
I set a $500 monthly limit on a campaign for a local handyman service and woke up to a $800 charge after 7 days. Turns out I forgot to cap the daily budget properly and Google happily spent it all. Has anyone else had this happen with their first few campaigns?

Whoa, eight hundred bucks in a week? That is honestly one of the most painful things I have read in a while. Google definitely does not play around when it sees an open budget, it will just run with it like a kid in a candy store. Take this with a grain of salt, but I have heard of people setting a shared budget across campaigns to stop that exact bleed, it helps cap things at the account level. Still, your mileage may vary on how fast you can actually catch it before the damage is done. That must have been a rough morning to wake up to.

Woke up to a 500 dollar ad bill once myself @amygonzalez. Shared budgets saved me too.
