Spent $45 on a document scanner, now my desk drawer is finally empty

I had a shoebox full of receipts and old tax stuff from 2016 sitting around for years. Kept telling myself I'd sort it out, but never did. Last month I bought a cheap portable scanner off Amazon for $45 and did the whole pile in two evenings. Took photos with my phone for a while, but the scanner software reads the dates and totals way better. Now the drawer is just spare cables and a few pens. Anyone else pay for a tool that actually got them to finish a cleanup project?

Got a buddy who bought a label maker JUST to finally organize his garage shelves. Said it sat in the box for two months, but once he used it, he went through everything he owned in one weekend. Now he labels random stuff like his spice rack, it's a whole thing.
