Warning: my tablet pen broke right before a big client review

I was in my home studio in Portland, about to present three character concepts, when the pen tip snapped off. I had to quickly switch to my old mouse and explain the situation, which actually led to a more honest talk about the rough sketches. Has anyone else had a key tool fail at the worst moment and how did you handle it?

Ugh, that studio panic is real. I've had a vacuum hose snap mid-clean at a regular's house and had to explain why their living room was suddenly not getting done right. Technology and tools always pick the worst possible moment, don't they?

Oh man, that's the worst. My old Wacom tablet driver completely crashed right in the middle of a live-streamed drawing session. The screen just froze up. I had to reboot and talk to chat for like five minutes while it loaded, totally killed the vibe. It was so awkward just sitting there. Sometimes tech just decides to die on you at the exact wrong time.
