Took a coolant sample and got a green smoothie instead

Last week I pulled a sample from a Freightliner Cascadia and the stuff came out thick and lumpy, kind of like a melted milkshake. The driver swore he'd been topping it off with plain water, but the oil analysis later showed a blown head gasket and about 3 quarts of engine oil mixed in. Cost the guy a new gasket set plus a full flush, around $1,800 all said. Has anyone else seen coolant turn into that weird pudding consistency before the engine even started knocking?

Yikes, that milkshake look is never good, sorry you had to deal with that mess.
