The barista who refused to serve me decaf after 9pm
I work nights at the hospital, so my 2am coffee runs are a lifeline. Tuesday I stopped at the 24-hour shop on Colfax and asked for a decaf oat latte. The barista, like mid-20s, looked me dead in the eye and said 'You don't look like you need decaf, you look like you need sleep.' I laughed it off but he kept pushing, asking if I was sure, listing caffeine side effects. It was 2 in the morning, I just wanted my usual order, not a wellness lecture from a stranger. Has anyone else had a worker cross that line into personal advice when you just want a simple transaction? I get it's a local spot, but that's a bit much for me.
