Raked in $210 by telling sellers the cashback portal code before checkout

Last Tuesday I was buying a couch off an auction site and noticed the seller link had a hidden Rakuten code, so I messaged them and they let me use it, and that one move covered my delivery fee plus got me $12 back, has anyone else tried asking sellers to apply affiliate codes they're already using?
