RGB strips vs individual fans for case lighting - my last build settled it
Built a white NR200P last week and tried both setups. RGB strips gave a cleaner glow but the individual Lian Li fans let me control zones better for airflow. Which do you lean toward for a small form factor case?

Three of my Lian Li fans finally gave up and started flickering like a broken strobe light at a middle school dance. I decided to strip them out and just use a single RGB strip tucked along the bottom of my NR200P. Now my case glows like a soft glowing lava lamp from the 90s instead of a rave. Sure, I lost the zone control for airflow, but at least my fan curves don't look like a seizure anymore. Plus, now I have a great excuse for why my temps are a little toasty: "It's artistic heat, okay?

Honestly, that "artistic heat" excuse is gold, I might have to borrow that. I tried the strip-only route in my last build and ended up with a cozy little hotbox because I couldn't aim air where I needed it. But you're right, the soft glow is way more chill for a desk setup than having fans that look like a rave every time I turn the PC on. Gotta admit, I kind of miss being able to just point a fan directly at my RAM sticks when they get cranky though.
