Rant: got a fake 'your package is held' text on Tuesday and almost tapped the link

I was sitting in my car outside the post office on Elm Street when my phone buzzed with a text saying my package was held and I owed $2.15. The link looked real enough that my thumb was hovering over it, but the number was a random area code I did not know. I remembered that USPS never texts about a fee, so I deleted it and reported it as junk. I called the actual post office and the guy laughed, said four other people had asked about the same text that morning. Has anyone else been getting these fake delivery fee texts this month?
