I thought the $85 drink package on our Bahamas cruise was a total rip off until I did the math
My husband and I booked a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas back in March and I refused to buy the drink package at first. I figured we would just pay as we went since we aren't big drinkers, but by day 2 I had already put $60 on our account from just a few cocktails by the pool. The next morning I sat down with the receipt and realized we were on pace to spend almost $300 for the week between coffees, sodas, and drinks. We bought the package that afternoon for $85 each and ended up breaking even by day 3 and everything after that was basically free. What got me was that it also covered the fancy coffee bar and bottled water, which I never would have guessed. Has anyone else done the break even math on these packages, or do you just skip them and stick to the free lemonade?
