My kid asked for a bedtime story and gave me a prompt that fixed my whole writing block
Last Tuesday my 6 year old, Nora, wanted a story about a bear who runs a bakery, and I made it up on the spot with zero planning. It hit me while tucking her in that I had been sitting on a blank doc for my own story for two weeks because I kept trying to outline the whole plot first. The next morning I pulled a random prompt off a generator and wrote 800 words in one sitting, no outline, just chasing the first weird idea. Does anyone else use a prompt to trick yourself into starting, or do you just stare at the page until something breaks?
