Every prompt about a haunted house needs a boring mundane detail
I read 47 prompts in the last two weeks and they all describe creaking floors and fog, but never once mention what the ghost does about the electrical wiring from 1972 or how the new owners deal with the water bill, so why are we skipping the part that actually makes the horror feel real, and has anyone else noticed this gap?

Used to write spooky stuff and hit the same wall, so I started adding in stuff like the breaker box doing weird things or the thermostat dropping when no one's home. Those small, boring details stuck with readers way more than any creaky door ever did. It's the paper trail that makes the ghost feel like it's actually paying rent.
