Hit 1,000 hours in the seat last Thursday and the number that actually got me was 3
I logged my 1,000th hour on the controls last Thursday up on a job in Tacoma, and my boss handed me a little card with the number on it like it was a big deal. What got me was flipping back through my logbook and counting 3 near misses, all of them from guys on the ground walking under the load while I was swinging. The 1,000 hours felt good but those 3 pages made me realize how lucky I've been. Now I make sure my spotter radios me before every blind pick, even on the small stuff. Any of you keep a close call count in your own log, or is it just me being paranoid?
