Bought a $140 load cell for my crane scale and it read 800 lbs heavy on the first lift
I was trying to dial in the scale on our 30 ton rig last week and hooked up this cheap load cell I found online, and it was reading 800 lbs over on a calibrated test weight. Turns out the thing was rated for tension only and I had it mounted in compression, so the strain gauge was fighting itself the whole time. Anybody got a brand they actually trust for this stuff or am I stuck paying the dealer price?
