I swore couch co-op needed 4 players to be fun, then my buddy's wife joined us for Overcooked and proved me wrong
For like two years I refused to play any couch co-op game unless we had a full group of 4 people. I figured 2 player games were just boring and 3 was some awkward middle ground where someone always gets left out. Then last month my buddy Dave and his wife came over to our place in Columbus and we only had 3 people since my girlfriend was working late. Dave pulled out Overcooked 2 and I honestly groaned about it. His wife had never played a video game in her life, like she didn't even know which buttons did what. But watching her figure it out and the three of us yelling about burning the soup was some of the most fun I have had in months. We played for 4 hours straight and I completely forgot we were missing a fourth person. Now I keep a list of good 3 player games and I even pulled out a Mario Party night with just 3 people. Has anyone else had a game click way harder with fewer people than they expected?
