Warning: used a cheap bonder and ruined a client's hair last week
Last week I had a client come in for a root touch up and I figured I'd save some money by using a new generic bonder I found online. Big mistake. Her ends turned sticky and the color lifted unevenly after 20 minutes. I spent 3 hours fixing it with Olaplex and a demi permanent color. Has anyone else had a bad experience with off brand bonders?

Did you try using a protein filler before the color? That saved me when I had a similar mess with a cheap bonder.

Actually WAIT, are you serious? You used a CHEAP bonder WITH that kind of damage? Oh honey no, that's a recipe for disaster. @mason.paige I cannot believe you risked it like that but I'm SO glad it worked out. Protein filler is absolutely the secret weapon for porous hair though, it literally saved my hair from turning into straw last year. I honestly think a lot of people skip that step and then blame the dye when things go wrong.
