Shoutout to the stylist who told me about the 45 degree rule for foil placement

I was sitting in a class last month at the Aveda Institute in Chicago and a senior stylist dropped this nugget: if you don't angle your foils at 45 degrees from the part, you're basically asking for bleeding. She showed me two examples side by side and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else messed up highlights for years without realizing this was the fix?
