Shoutout to the friend who debated lizard people at a coffee shop
The barista's confused look made the whole thing worth it. Isn't it wild how normal these chats feel to us?

Totally get what you're saying, it's all about that moment when you see regular people just stop and process. My buddy and I once got into it about flat earth theory waiting in line at a hardware store. The guy behind us just slowly put his headphones on while we talked about ice walls. Seeing someone's normal day briefly stop because of your nonsense chat is the real reward.

These talks don't feel normal to everyone, that's the whole point. Your barista was confused because it's a weird thing to argue about in public. The fun part is making everyday places strange for a minute. You get used to your own weird interests, but regular people haven't. Their reaction is the best bit, not just how normal it feels to you.

Hold up, you mentioned the hardware store ice walls chat. Honestly the fact that it happened in the concrete aisle makes it way funnier to me. I just can't get over someone debating the edge of the world next to bags of mortar mix. Why there?
