Can we talk about the time my save file got wiped and I lost 40 hours in one console exclusive?
I was 15 hours deep into a late night run of a big open world title on my Switch, sitting on the floor of my apartment in Portland, when my little cousin tripped over the dock cord and yanked the whole thing off the shelf. The screen went black, I heard the cartridge pop out, and when I put it back in, my save was just gone. I sat there for a minute, then did the only thing I could think of, which was hand the controller to my cousin and tell him to start a new file while I made us both sandwiches. Two hours later we were both laughing at his terrible stealth attempts, and honestly that dumb accident turned into one of my favorite gaming memories. Has anyone else had a save file die on them and somehow ended up glad it happened?
That's such a good way to handle it. Losing a save stings for a while but starting fresh with someone who's never played before is honestly better than the original run.
