The spec sheet lied about slump, lost a whole afternoon over it

I got a load last Tuesday from a plant in Akron and the ticket said 4 inch slump, but it came out stiff as a board. We were pouring a backyard patio and had to run back and forth with a hose just to get it workable, which screwed up our timing. I called the dispatcher and he admitted their gauge was off by almost 2 inches on the last batch. Has anyone else had a plant's numbers be way off, or is it just me noticing this more lately?
