Skip the pump truck on small slabs, trust me
Did a 12-yard pour last Tuesday outside Austin and used a line pump instead of a boom truck. Saved almost $400 on the rental, but the hose kinked twice and we lost 40 minutes fighting it. The crew had to hand-bucket the last corner because the slump started dropping fast. If you're doing anything over 8 yards with tight access, just eat the boom cost and keep the pour moving. Has anyone else got burned by trying to save on the pump setup?

Forty minutes on a kinked hose sounds like a nightmare, but hand-bucketing the last corner after all that is just brutal. That slump drop alone would've had me pacing the whole site.
