Had a big pour in Tacoma where the crew insisted on using a 5 inch slump mix for a driveway, said it would finish faster. It bled out so bad we were troweling soup for an hour.

Oh man, that's brutal! Sounds like they were trying to finish a driveway and ended up making cement soup instead. Hope you at least got paid by the hour for that troweling marathon.

Was the slump even tested on site or did they just trust the ticket? I've seen guys add gallons of water to a 5 inch mix trying to make it "workable", which just turns the cream into a river. Bet the surface was dusting by the next morning too.
