Changed my mind about using a power trowel on a small patio job
I always thought it was overkill for anything under 200 square feet, but a pour last Tuesday for a 12x12 patio in Springfield changed that. The homeowner wanted a super tight finish, and my arm was killing me halfway through the second pass with a hand trowel. I borrowed a buddy's Allen Power Trowel for the final burn, and the control and speed were a game changer. Anyone else find a smaller machine worth the hassle on tight spaces?

Super tight finish" on a 12x12 patio? That's a driveway for a lawnmower. Dragging a power trowel out for that seems like way more trouble than it's worth. You gotta set it up, clean it, and haul it around for what, ten minutes of work? A magnesium float and a steel trowel gets it plenty smooth if you know what you're doing. Sounds like you just had a sore arm and wanted to play with a new toy.

Springfield's humidity last Tuesday was brutal, and @sagey69, you ever think about how much time you lose waiting for the right hand-trowel set when the customer is watching the clock?
