Unpopular opinion: I stopped carrying a spare PSU after what happened at the Dayton swap meet
Was doing a house call in Trotwood last month, just north of Dayton, and the lady's cat had peed into her top-mounted PSU through the vent holes. I had a spare in the van and swapped it, no big deal, but then she asked why it smelled like that and I had to explain her cat almost fried a $900 rig. Now I carry a cheap surge strip and a can of compressed air instead, because 9 times out of 10 the PSU is fine and it's just dust or a loose 24 pin. Anyone else cut their van stock down after one weird job, or am I the only one overpacking?
