TIL a zip tie trick for my comms cable that actually works
I kept getting my comms cable snagged on sharp edges inside a wreck off Key West, and my old boss said to zip tie a small pool noodle chunk around the cable at the helmet connection. Tried it last week and it saved me from two potential snags. What's your go-to trick for keeping umbilical lines clear?

Pool noodles are the duct tape of the water world, idk. It's funny how the best fixes are just simple things you already have around. I see that everywhere now, like using a bread clip to fix a flip flop strap. Maybe it's just me but the smartest solutions are never the expensive ones.

Gotta disagree with @taylorcarr on the drag thing, actually. If you use a thin slice of the noodle it barely adds any resistance. Plus the peace of mind is worth way more than a tiny bit of drag. @pipera50 is spot on, pool noodles really are the duct tape of the water world. I've seen guys use them for everything from padding tank valves to wrapping up spare batteries. And honestly, a snagged cable can cost you way more time than some extra drag ever would.
