That 91-year-old diver in Port Arthur who changed how I rig
Met this old-school guy, Ray, during a 6-week shutdown job at the refinery docks in Port Arthur. He watched me clip a lift bag with a weak shackle and just said, "Son, that's how you lose a finger or a friend." Then he showed me his knot trick with 3 wraps and a half hitch that I still use on every job since. Anyone else have an old timer correct them on something small that turned out to be a big safety deal?
