Rant: my comic guy in Akron pushed me to start with Saga over Watchmen and it flipped how I see the whole hobby
So about 4 months back I walked into this little shop on West Market Street in Akron and told the owner I wanted to finally get into comics after years of just watching the movies. I had exactly $40 to spend and I was dead set on grabbing Watchmen because everyone always calls it the greatest one ever. He told me to get Saga vol 1 instead, and honestly I argued with him for like 10 minutes about it. I finally gave in and read the whole thing in two nights, then went back and bought vol 2 and 3 the next weekend. Watchmen is great, but starting there would have felt like homework, and Saga made me actually care about reading comics every night. What got you guys hooked when you first started, was it a big classic or something newer?
