My doubt about fan communities disappeared after helping at a charity event

Honestly, seeing fans from all backgrounds work together for a good cause made me rethink everything.

My friend saw thirty fans run a food drive last winter.

Did joining a fan charity event change your view, like @fox.mila's food drive did for me?

The Austin book drive last month collected three thousand books for kids. It was run by fans who usually just debate online. What part of the charity work changed your view? Was it the teamwork or seeing fans in a new light? I helped at a concert cleanup and the change from online fights to real working together was weird. Everyone focused on the task, not who shipped what or which album was best. That practical side of fandom doesn't get enough attention.
