Just realized I spent 4 hours trying to find a specific panel from a 90s X-Men comic for a friend, and everyone online says it's 'easy' to find.

I was sure it was in Uncanny X-Men #281, but after checking my own collection and three different digital archives, I finally found it in a random issue of X-Factor from the same month, so has anyone else had a simple reference turn into a deep dive?

Tell me about it. I once spent an entire afternoon looking for a single line of dialogue, convinced it was a famous Spidey quote. Turns out it was from a cartoon episode, not a comic at all. My brain had just made up a whole memory of it being on the page. The internet was zero help, everyone kept pointing to the wrong issue. You just have to laugh at yourself after a certain point.
