I finally stopped alphabetizing my long boxes by publisher
I used to organize my comics by DC, Marvel, Image, then smaller publishers. Spent 3 hours reorganizing after the Black Friday sales last year and it drove me nuts. My buddy at a local shop in Denver told me to just sort everything alphabetically by title regardless of who published it. Now I can find any issue I own in under 30 seconds. Anyone else switch up their sorting system and regret it or love it?

Alphabetical by title is the way to go, no doubt about it. I've had my books sorted that way for about six years now after a similar headache. One thing I'd add is to keep a separate short box for crossover events or limited series that tie into multiple titles. For example, I keep my Final Night issues off to the side so i don't have to dig through the whole box.

Fiona502 over here trying to save us all from the chaos of crossovers, but honestly that just sounds like a recipe for more headaches. Now I'd have to remember if an issue is a crossover BEFORE I file it, which is exactly the kind of thinking that got me into this mess in the first place. Pretty soon I'd have a box for crossovers, a box for mini-series, a box for variants, and a box for "books I bought because the cover was cool." Might as well just throw them all in a pile and play blind man's bluff every time I want to read something. Sounds like a great way to make a simple hobby into a full time job, but you do you @fiona502.
