Almost failed my chem midterm because of that one study spot in the library basement
I've been going to the basement floor of the science library for weeks thinking it was the quietest place to cram for exams. Turns out the air circulation down there is terrible and it made me super drowsy after about 45 minutes every time. I lost like 3 hours of study time last Tuesday nodding off over my notebook before I moved to a table near a window on the second floor. Has anyone else figured out which spots on campus are actually the worst for focusing?

Oh man, the library basement is a TRAP. That stale air just knocks you out after an hour tops. The worst spots are always the windowless ones with bad ventilation, just pure nap zones. I had the same issue last semester in the basement of the humanities building. That place was basically a humidity chamber with books. Moving closer to natural light totally fixed my focus though. Honestly any spot with a faint draft or even a tiny bit of outside sound works better for me now.

Dude yeah the basement spots are brutal. One of my friends actually fell asleep during a group study session in the science library basement last spring and woke up with drool on their chem notes. They said it was like being in a cave with no airflow. @river_hart18 you nailed it with the humidity chamber comparison, my friend said the air down there felt heavy like a wet blanket. They finally started camping out at a table near the vending machines on the main floor and said the constant beeping kept them more awake than coffee did.
