My French press conversion after 10 years of drip only

I picked up a used Bodum at a garage sale in Portland for $3 and figured I'd hate the sludge. Turns out the immersion brew brings out a sweetness I never got from my drip machine, even with the same beans and grind. Anyone else switch camps late and find their old method was the thing holding them back?

A buddy of mine swore by his drip for years, then his wife got him a cheap press at a thrift store and he hasn't touched the machine since. Same beans, same grinder, he just says the taste is rounder somehow. Your mileage may vary but you're not the only one who made that jump.
