Spent 3 weeks putting semicolons after every single line because I thought that's what 'proper syntax' meant
Honestly I was working through a free Python course back in January and kept getting red error messages. My code looked just like the examples to me, so I figured the site was broken. Then I pasted my whole file into a beginner Discord at like 2am and a guy named Marcus replied with one word: 'semicolons.' Turns out I had been slapping a semicolon at the end of every line for 3 weeks straight, all 400 lines of my little number guessing game. The weird part is some of it ran fine, which made me even more sure I was right. I just deleted all 60 of them one by one and it worked on the first try. Has anyone else had a habit that your brain refused to let go of?
