Pro tip: a guy at a library class in Tulsa showed me how to read my own error messages, and it stuck
Back in 2019 I signed up for a free beginner coding class at the Tulsa library, mostly because a friend kept bugging me about it. The teacher, an older guy named Harold, spent the whole first night on nothing but error messages, making us read them out loud one by one. I had been copying my errors into search boxes for months without ever really reading them, and that night I fixed a missing bracket I had stared at for two days. Now I read the line number and the actual words first, before I touch the keyboard. Has anyone else had a teacher slow them down like that, or do you just dive into a search?
