My coworker's one comment about variable names stuck with me for months

Last spring, my senior dev at a small shop in Portland saw my code and just said "your variables read like a ransom note." He spent 10 minutes renaming things like x and temp to userEmail and retryCount, and suddenly the whole bug just clicked. Has anyone else had a tiny style tip from someone that fixed a bigger problem than you expected?
