Lead hand in Wichita told me my work offsets were hiding sloppy setups, so I started touching off by hand
I used to slam through setups by trusting the last part's numbers and just bumping the offset a few thou. A lead hand named Roy at the shop in Wichita watched me run a job and said straight up, you're not dialing in, you're covering up. Now I touch off every tool by hand on the first part of a run, and my scrap rate dropped from about 4 bad parts a month to zero since March. Curious if anyone else got called out like that and what stuck with you.
