Reading old Doom modding forums made me realize how much has changed
Was looking up how to fix a texture glitch in an old WAD I'm working on and stumbled onto a thread from like 2003. Someone was complaining about how hard it was to get people to test your map since you had to email the .wad file around. I mean, now we just upload to Discord and get feedback in minutes. It's wild how simple stuff like file sharing used to be a whole project. Has anyone else dug through old posts and felt that weird mix of progress and loss?

Honestly yeah, there's something kinda nice about that older pace. It forced you to really think through your stuff before you hit send, y'know? Not gonna lie though I'm glad I don't have to rely on mailing disks to get my Doom maps out there.
