Customer complained about a draft, changed my whole brush routine
Last month a lady in Boise said she could feel cold air leaking even after I sealed the damper. I always used the same stiff brush for everything, figuring soot was soot. She watched me work and pointed out my brush was leaving a gap along one side of the flue where the liner had shifted. I switched to a flexible round brush and started checking the whole circumference with a mirror before I call it done. It adds maybe 10 minutes per job but I caught two more flues with the same issue this week. Anyone else deal with liners that move over time and mess with your brush fit?
